Sandra Markus brings more than two decades of senior marketing and communications leadership across Canada’s public and private sectors, with a deep expertise in education and healthcare. A strategic thinker with an empathetic approach and collaborative spirit, Sandra helps clients find and define their voice, strengthen their positioning, and develop brand, marketing and communications strategies that resonate with purpose and clarity.
Sandra’s work is grounded in a strong strategic planning lens and an ability to guide teams through transformation. Before joining McGill Buckley, she held senior roles at HBS Marketing, where she served as VP of Client Services for over a decade, and at Algonquin College as Director of Communications, where she led a full-scale brand and strategic communications renewal.
She was the driving force behind Carleton University’s award-winning “Change” campaign and has supported executive leadership teams through organizational storytelling, brand alignment, and stakeholder engagement. She was also a key part of the team that rebranded Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice and Hendry Warren LLP.
As a founding partner of Brand Clarity, Sandra spent ten years advising a range of institutions, including CHEO, Queensway Carleton Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre, Humber College, and York University. Her ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and deliver tailored, integrated solutions has made her a trusted advisor to leadership teams navigating growth, change, or both.
Sandra is a certified Strategic Communications Management Professional (SCMP) through the International Association of Business Communicators, and she holds a certificate in change leadership. She has also taught in the Advertising program at Algonquin College.
Sandra is a dedicated advocate for children with rare developmental disabilities in Canada and is actively involved in policy conversations and parent advocacy networks.
