Soccer Toolkits for Coaches and Parents

Over the years, Thanks to our good friends at Face Value Communications we’ve been able to work on a number of exciting projects for the Canadian Soccer Association.

One of those projects was the development of the Canada Soccer Toolkits, an offshoot of the work we did on the Canada Soccer Pathway.

In response to a steadily growing need for technical resources for coaches and parents at the grassroots level of soccer, Canada Soccer engaged our team to plan, design and launch a new national player development brand supported by compelling, user-friendly tools.

Building on existing technical manuals, our team worked closely with Canada Soccer’s senior coaches and in-house communications team to create a simple, straightforward suite of coaching materials. Customized products – written in plain language and featuring eye-pleasing graphics and imagery – explain the overall vision for soccer in Canada and help parents and grassroots coaches to provide the best, most enjoyable soccer experience for their young athletes. We delivered three separate soccer toolkits in English and French:
 

1. Stage One Soccer Toolkit

Active Start for players up to the age of 6

For the youngest soccer players to develop basic movement skills like running, jumping, landing, kicking, throwing, and catching in a fun setting built.
 

2. Stage Two Soccer Toolkit

FUNdamentals for players between the ages of 6 and 10

Allows young soccer players to develop their movement ABCs—agility, balance, coordination, and speed—and learn the basics of the game.
 

3. Stage Three Soccer Toolkit

Learn to Train for players between the ages of  10 and 12

In this coaches guide, the focus is on learning by doing, building a larger repertoire of soccer movements and teaching the basic principles of play in a fun and challenging environment.
